CENTRE SIGNS (UK) LTD INVESTS IN NEW TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT BUSINESS
GROWTH
Centre Signs (UK) Ltd , the leading trade manufacturer of built-up
and flat cut metal letters in the UK , upgraded its’routing
and graphics software systems to support the increased demand that
they have experienced since the start of their latest advertising
campaign in Sign UpDate magazine.
The Magnum Router Cutting system and the existing SignLab software
have both been upgraded to accommodate the 2 new graphics terminals.
This upgraded router cutting system has enabled CSL to produce
larger quantities of aluminium letters, acrylic letters and 2mm
/ 3mm thick
brass letters without compromising the quality of the product.
In fact, the degree of precision made possible by the new system
enables
CSL's craftsmen to achieve even greater consistency than before,
coupled with the routers ability to cut perspex letter faces
and templates means that CSL is able to reduce lead times even
further
whilst containing manufacturing costs, which is reflected in
the very competitive prices that they are able to offer their
customers.
The existing computer database network system has also been upgraded
in the offices, for which the software was designed in-house
and tailored to meet CSL's needs. The system holds full information
on all quotations and job costings from 1993 onwards, and it
has
been
designed to reduce the response time of providing quotations
and is proving invaluable in tracing past and present jobcards.
Trevor Cockbill, the Managing Director of CSL makes it very clear
that "These latest investments are in line with the company's
strategy for adopting new technology," "We like to
keep up with the times, but we always plan the acquisition and
implementation
of new equipment and systems carefully in response to our customers'
needs.
"We pride ourselves on the high quality of our craftsmanship, and
the personal service that we give our customers. This policy
has been the driving force that has made CSL the leading trade manufacturer
that we are today. Of course we will continue to evaluate and
adopt new technology to support our business, but we intend to remain customer-driven
rather than technology-driven."
Trevor is extremely pleased with the level of response from Sign
UpDate readers. As a result of increased business volume, Paul
Smith has already been promoted to Production Manager, a new
position, in which role he will be responsible for all work-in-progress,
as
well as assisting with quotations and technical advice in the
sales
department. Mark Blockley has been promoted from the shop floor
and has brought with him an extensive knowledge of sheet fabrication
is already proving to be a valuable member of the internal sales
team." We always listen to our customers requests and try
to respond to their needs., The response from signmakers is absolutely
necessary
if CSL is to continually improve its service and product range
for the Sign Trade.
"To address recent enquiries, we're currently planning another new service,
but for now Trevor is keeping that one under wraps. Watch this space!
